Having trouble linking your YouTube channel to Google Ads—seeing messages like “Something went wrong” or “Please sign in as [X] to continue”?
Pick the scenario below that matches your situation for step-by-step help.
1.1. Verify Your Account
Make sure you’re signed in to the Google account that actually owns the YouTube channel.
1.2. Switch if Needed
Click your profile icon in the top right and select the correct Google account.
1.3. Try Again
Go through the linking process once more.
1.4. Use Private/Incognito Mode
If errors persist, open a private browser window, sign in there, and repeat the steps.
Note:
Your Google account doesn’t have to be the same one you use to log into VeeFly—just one with channel access.
You might also need to re-link if:
It’s been over 90 days of inactivity
You're connecting to a different VeeFly Ads account
If you have permission but aren’t the owner:
2.1. Get Special Link
In VeeFly, click ‘Link Now’
Choose ‘Don't have access to the channel?’ to generate the URL
2.2. Send to the Owner
Share the generated URL with the channel owner
Ask them to finish the linking on their end
Music services sometimes create “Topic Channels” for you automatically. These cannot be linked.
3.1. Why?
These are system-generated and not managed like personal channels.
3.2. What to Do
Consider creating your own YouTube channel to gain:
Full ownership and control
Direct fan interaction
Better promotional results
Tip:
Even without linking, you can still run campaigns.
However, a personal channel unlocks additional insights and targeting features.
If YouTube Studio shows your channel is linked, but VeeFly reports “Link request not found”, you need to unlink and reconnect.
Steps to Fix:
Log into YouTube Studio
Go to Settings → Channel → Advanced settings
Scroll down to Google Ads account linking
Locate the VeeFly entry, click Unlink, and then Save
Go back to VeeFly and follow the on‑screen steps to re-link your channel
